Sagalings, to the home page

Privacy for sign-in and feedback

This page is about signing in with Google on sagalings.com and the feedback board on the Sagalings demo page. You do not need to sign in to read the pages, read the books or try the demo. The demo itself saves what children do locally on their own device. What children do in the game is not sent to us.

What we store

Your browser remembers that you are signed in, so you don't have to sign in on every page. This goes away when you sign out.

Saving the game, later

Later, you will be able to choose to save the game with us, so you don't lose it and can carry on playing on another phone or tablet. We will then store your game as it is when it is saved, with your Sagalings, progress and settings, which version of the app it came from and when it was saved. We keep the last 20 saves, so we can bring back an older one if something goes wrong. This is not switched on yet, and it only happens if you choose it yourself. We will update this page before it is switched on.

Why we store it

Signing in means each account can vote only once on each post, only you can delete your own posts, and we can stop misuse. New posts become visible to others only after we have read and approved them. You see your own posts straight away. Your first name is shown next to your posts. We never show your email address to others, and we use it only to reply if you ask us something. We use the feedback to decide what to make next. Approved posts and your first name are visible to everyone on the board. Apart from that, we share the information only with Supabase and Google, who run the database and the sign-in. We do not send advertising, and we never sell the information.

Where the data is

The database with your account, posts and votes is hosted by Supabase, in a data centre in Europe. Signing in happens at Google, which may also process information outside Europe. The same goes for technical logs kept by Supabase and Google. We keep the data as long as your account exists, or until you ask us to delete it.

How to delete your data

You can delete your own posts yourself with the Delete button on the post. To remove a vote, tap the vote button again. When you sign out, your browser forgets the sign-in, but your account stays with us. If you want us to delete everything, including your account, send us an email. We will then delete your account, your posts and your votes. You can also ask what we have stored about you.
